Come to the Darth Side and celebrate Jurassic Park, Star Wars and more with Brigham City Puppetry, Improv Faction and guest star Norene Risk as Darth Vader on stage Friday, October 30.

This Frighty Night Halloween special is geared for elementary age students at 4 p.m. and for teens and adults at 7:30 p.m. There will be plenty of fun, spoofing of traditional scary movies, puppetry for the younger set, performances aimed at the older crowd, and a costume contest.

Norene Risk, a Brigham City resident, has long been fascinated with George Lucas and the entire Star Wars phenomenon. She purchased a mask and hood from Don Post Studios while living in Southern California, and made her own costume. She has met with Dave Prowse, the original Darth Vader, who complimented her on her costume.

She has always liked mechanical designs. The costume and how the operating table functioned at the end of Revenge of the Sith fascinated her, so she made one of each. She’s used them ever since, enjoying the role in many venues.

She has performed at birthday parties and special events, attended three Sci-Fi conventions as Darth Vader, and played this role at the California State Fair.

“We all struggle with good vs. evil inside of us,” said Norene. “Come to the Darth Side, but may the positively GOOD Force be with you! Join the Fine Arts Center on a quest that will ultimately decide the fate of the entire galaxy. See Darth Vader, Yoda, Jedi knights and storm troopers.”

Everyone is invited to come in costume, one and all, young and old, Star Wars or otherwise. There will be a costume contest, including a Darth Vader look-alike award. Tickets are $3 per person, with advance sale, family and group discounts available. Call 435-723-0740 for more information.
