Quarterback Shad Watson was a force that the Clinton Blue team could not reckon with during the Brigham City Purple Midget football team’s 42-0 playoff win last Saturday. Watson either passed or rushed for all but one of the team of 13-year-old’s touchdowns, while the defense forced two turnovers and maintained the team’s shutout streak and perfect record. Teagan Hubbard was a recipient of one of the passes, which he ran the majority of 70 yards to set up a five yard pass for the team’s second score.

In all, five teams from Brigham City made the playoffs and all but one made it to the next round. Two of those teams—the Midget Purple and Jr. Midget White—are undefeated and favored to win the Wasatch Front Football League’s Mini Bowl according to Midget Purple head coach Steve Brooks.

The four remaining Brigham City teams will host their second-round playoff games Saturday at Box Elder High School starting at 9 a.m.
